1987 Bullet Saga - Hero of the day Kirru and Shankara

Friday went early to office at 17:30 IST, thinking that I need to go home early and sleep for at least 2 hours, unfortunately I could not go home soon hence had to go to my Mama’s house which is behind H2O’s office (Timken) and pick my Mama and my Chikamma and her son to Muddena halli (chikamma’s son wanted to write a entrance test in a high school which is in muddena halli). I realized once I reached there that it’s the home town of Sir M Vishveshvaraia and they have a museum and tomb where he was cremated. I was feeling very happy to go to that village where India’s best ever engineer and a person with highest IQ in modern India was born in this village

Once I came back from Muddenahalli to my Mama’s house, Smart Boy Kirru called me to check if I am attending Benki meet in our regular place or I would stay back in home and they would come to my house for a party. I was very happy learning that they would be coming to my house for the party and started to clean the house (if there was electricity in the evening I would have started to clean it earlier, finally I was not able to finish my cleaning due to future issues that I am gona write now!!)

Then around 20:30 I got a call from Prasanna the “Big” Benki member that they would take time to come to my house and they asked me to get carrier meals sufficient for 7 people; I then went to Bhagini a new Jing Chak Andra style hotel and ordered for 3 meals and by the time my parcel was ready had 30” Vat69 ;-); once I was back to home and started cleaning again, got call that the 1987 Bullet is not responding due to electricity and battery problem.

Then went to Dairy Circle in my Benki cab to check the problem informing Kirru (hero of the day to push the vehicle with so much patinas) about my progress so that they would not attempt to start with dead battery, as it would be petrol rich in carburetor and would be even more difficult to start) – by the time I reached there Benki members were ready for me with a bottle of Badam milk as welcome drink; during process of trying to start my bike I broke VP Long drive’s helmet visor and papa blame went on shankara (who is one more hero of the day for providing the battery) ; then some old bullet mechanic ( & current bullet permi) helped us in starting the bullet using Shankara’s bike battery.

Thanks to Shankara, we all could reach home by 00:30 on Sunday; frustrated that we could not drink alcohol and have party, tiered pushing 140 KG vehicle for a long distance and finishing eating dinner at 01:30; however everyone had a pleasant sleep while watching “Black Diamond” movie...

So finally after more than 47 hours, I could sleep, so I don’t even remember when everyone left house, Sunday at around 16:00 I woke up and had a pack of biscuits and slept again!! finally work up at 03:00 on Monday to eat the remaining raise from the carrier meals (Thank fully some one had kept some rice in fridge)

Hence my weekend and Benki meet started at 16:00 on Friday and ended at 04:00 on Monday morning.... in b/w I went through 250 KM of driving, 1 KM of pushing the bike; getting thrice the amount of rice that we can have; took battery from Shankara and did not properly thank him and created a aversion towards my bike to Kiran and failed to provide alcohol to VP Long drive and finally did not send off Benki Members who came to my house as I was fast asleep...

Lets see what happens in next Benki meets.... :)

  2. Hi Benki
I have a Suggestion to rename Shankara. In future instead of calling him Bucket Shankara we can call him Battery Bucket Shankara, since he had given his battery to start Our Benki Cab drivers Bullet.... :)

  3. Benki meet started quite early :) (6:30pm) on Saturday.. It was our beloved Karadi who switched on the time button…
Pradeep, Praveen and me were present at that time, and later Kiru, Preetham and Prassanna joined us… before Kiru and Prassanna joined us we had a small stroll around with Masalapuri and Soda as usual.. It was quite tasty and sponsored by Pradeep:)

Kiru and Prasanna while coming to Benki spot did a good job by helping a person who was hit by car (Car didn’t stop after the hit, but nothing major happened to victim)… the most challenging thing was that both had chased the car by their bike Activa and tried to teach them a lesson properly… I felt that was a good thing done towards society by being socially responsible…

After discussing all of these, we decided to halt at Sudhi’s place as it had been a long time since we had met (previous 3 weeks, benki meet had not happened).. and enjoy with a little hot drinks.. However Pretham and Praveen could not make it due to their personal reasons… Nitschal, who had given a small visit had expressed to be with us, but could not come at the last minute… so finally decided to go to sudhi’s house by bike, mine, Adiga’s and Kiru’s Bullet…

We started around 9:30 pm from Benki spot… it was good that we were going for a long drive in a bike after a very long period… we thought it to be good experience…. But it turned out to be adventurous as Basava’s bullet gave a starting trouble near diary circle.. We never had experience that we would push the bike so far with our fatty body… but we did it to the best possible… It was our bad luck as the bullet did not start for any of our attempts… then we decided that lets call Sudhi as he is quite well with the bullet. Until Sudhi comes to the place, we were waiting near Dairy circle road to see if someone could help us... Instead of getting the help, we had to breath a very bad stink around... we could not bear it anymore, so we slowly moved away from that place…

Sudhi came to the place and tried his best and gave all his energy to start the bike, but all his effort went futile…. But a miracle happened there....!!!
Do you believe in miracle? If not, the moment we faced there was something like a miracle itself… waiting until 00:30 was not an easy go... there suddenly comes a mechanic who is also a person of a great passion for Bullets… finally he found out that there is some problem with the battery and decided to change… it was my bike’s battery which gave a helping hand to Bullet to reach Sudhi’s house… At the point of time, mechanic was the true hero who had come around that time and helped us when we were desperately in need of it with a hungry stomach..

We were almost tired when we reached there… had the meals Sudhi had parceled earlier.. we felt very relaxing after that.. and then we followed with what Sudhi said…

In short, the benki meet was filled with daring, adventurous, strenuous and surprising moments…. And we truly enjoyed each of those moments…

See you all again in next benki meet… :)
